When we first started selling water ionizers my biggest concern was returns on units because they didn’t produce water at high enough PH levels due to source water issues. We have yet to process a return on a water ionizer that failed to produce water with PH levels within the ranges expected by the customer. What we have had are a returns on water ionizers because the customer could not get acid water.

To get the anti-microbial/anti-bacterial benefits, the PH level needs to be in the 3.0 to 2.5 range – 2.5 ideally. The fact is, the primary use for water ionizers by consumers is for the alkaline water. The industry has worked diligently to produce water ionizers that effectively and efficiently produce ionized water at PH levels of up to 11.0 and sometimes beyond.

In the race to the top of the PH charts, the acid PH fell off the buggy. We find that units that offer the highest PH levels have the most challenges producing stronger acid water. The strongest acid water produced by any water ionizer will come from the acid drain hose when the unit is set to produce the strongest alkaline water. Even the water that comes from the acid drain hose when the unit is on its highest alkaline setting sometimes just isn’t as acidic as many would like for various uses.

If you do have a need for stronger acid water and don’t want to pay $4,000 for an Enagic unit then order the enhancer solution on a regular basis, there is an alternative.
